Elevating women's health with a Squarespace website refresh for a birth educator and midwife
I’m deeply committed to empowering women to access healthcare on their own terms, which is why as a website designer I love to work with women in alternative and non-traditional health and wellness. One of the branding and website projects I’ve worked on, Midwife Lauretta, has been chosen to be featured in a list of Best Pregnancy Website Designs 🎉 so I thought I’d share a little more!
Birth is a unique and unforgettable experience that leaves a lasting mark on a woman's life. While it’s impossible to predict all outcomes, you can certainly prepare for the journey ahead. Enter Midwife Lauretta, one of the loveliest people you’ll meet, who provides in-person and online preparation, guidance and support for birth and beyond. From her signature Your Birth Class, to 1:1 sessions and acuneedling for pregnancy and postpartum care, Lauretta's holistic approach is designed to help women navigate this sacred phase of their lives with confidence and comfort.
Lauretta's previous branding and website had served her well for a time, but with the expansion of her offerings, it was time for a change! Collaborating with Lauretta, I helped her craft a new visual identity that would resonate deeply with her work and the families she serves. For both her branding and Squarespace website, the goal was to create a space that exudes a sense of warmth, invitation, and connection, making each visitor feel right at home.
Pregnancy and postpartum can be an emotionally vulnerable time for women, requiring a nurturing and supportive environment. With this in mind, I created a design that evokes feelings of comfort and understanding, and focused on creating an intuitive, easy-to-navigate, and aesthetically pleasing website for the busy women and families seeking Lauretta's guidance. The vibrant and inviting vibes of Lauretta's new branding aim to ease anxieties and foster an environment of trust, ensuring that every woman who seeks her care feels valued and appreciated.
One of the core principles that drive both my work and Lauretta's practice is the importance of women accessing healthcare on their own terms. We firmly believe that every woman deserves the right to make informed decisions about her health and the wellbeing of her family. Lauretta's website serves as a gateway for women to find the support they need without judgment or coercion, truly embodying the essence of patient-centred care.
